East Coast HO Road Racing
This year’s Anniversary ace was held under the Yellow flag due to the Covid-19 virus. All participants were required to wear masks. Durant Raceway was thoroughly cleaned an plenty of hand sanitizer and wipes were available.
10 races showed up for the event, although a light turnout, there was big fun, and all were glad to be racing!
Saturday was IROC day, always a fun time with close racing, this year was no exception. The totals at the end of the day reflected this.
Sunday, we had bracket bump up races with the ECHORR Slip on SS class. These cars have come a long way and are getting faster and faster. Again, some very close racing.
Hoping that next year we will be back to normal and can celebrate properly.
New SS rules have been published in the rules section.
Highlights:
Wizjet Chassis allowed in SS Class only or now.
Dash 3 lam arms 16+ ohms and Killer Bee arms allowed in SS Class only.
Shimming of all arms allowed in SS Class only.
Bottom of cluster shaft may be cut in SS class only.’
Downforce maximum to be 6.5 on Doanes calibrated scale.
Replacing of rivets and electronics allowed on chassis in all classes.
Unfortunately this years Challenge will be canceled . The venue is restricted to 25 people for events and this doesn’t look like it will change in the very near future. It is not worth going forward with the plans unless the venue is guaranteed. We will have the Challenge in 2021 on Columbus Day weekend.
