On a beautiful Summer weekend, ECHORR held it’s 14th Anniversary race at Durant Raceway in Fleetwood PA. The gathering drew 10 to 18 racers, among them Chuck and Derek Shaeffer, who were there in 2005 when the club was founded. Derek has never missed an Anniversary race!
Saturday was IROC day. We raced 6 different sets of IROC cars on the Bowman Champion track. Many different styles of cars from original Aurora Ferraris to custom made Zambonis. Needless to say, it was close fun racing all day. We had time to practice for the Sunday Slip on Silicone class before the IROC races, during lunch and after he IROC races were completed.
Sunday the action started @ 10:30am with the qualifying for the bracket format. These cars have come a long way in a short time. Our times and lap totals are almost the same as our SS class cars. The cars were really hooked up and the racing was nerve racking and close throughout the brackets. The C and B mains were extremely tough.
