2021 St. Patrick’s Day Race Report

Joel Lux completes the Hat Trick Sweep with a Feature Event Win in all 3 classes at Randy’s Raceway.
The Nostalgia class was 1st on the schedule with laps on the Randy’s Raceway Original Tub Track. Joel, who is 1 of the best Tjet Racers in the USA came to win. Joel bested the 17 racer field with 112 laps in 2:00 Round Robin racing action. 2nd Place went to Hiram Durant with 107 laps. Donny Auriema finished 3rd with 105 laps. 4th was Victor Quinones, Vic was very fast in the nostalgia class 104 laps. Wrapping up the Top-5 in the skinny tires class, Track Owner Randy Jay Haydt with 103 laps. 6th spot went to Jim Levan with 102 laps. 7th to Turbo Dan Wirfel with 102 laps, 8th to Brian Sponagle with 101 laps, 9th to Shane Hiester with 101 laps, 10th to Tom Wenner 101 laps.
The ECHORR Indy Cars were raced on the famous Randy’s Raceway 8 Lane Oval. The 2:00 minute round robin racing action was fast and crazy. Taking his 2nd win on the day, Joel Lux. Joel ran 215 laps over 8 lanes in 2:00 round robin racing action. Donny Auriema scored his 2nd straight podium finish with a 2nd place finish in Indy Car running 213 laps. Wrapping up the Top-3 was track owner Randy Jay Haydt with his 2nd Top 5 run. Randy raced to 213 laps. Finishing in the 4th spot was Hiram Durant with 209 Laps, Warren Lux completed the Top 5 runs. Warren with 208 laps. Finishing in 6th Spot was Dan Wirfel with 208 laps, Tom Wenner finished 7th with 207 laps, 8th spot went to Robin Schroy with 201 laps, 9th to Victor Quinones with 201 laps, 10th to Brian Sponagle with 200 laps of racing action.
After a break to enjoy some outstanding home cooked catered food by Brian VanBuskirk’s wife Kim. The racers were treated to Steak Sandwiches, Mac and Cheese, Fruit Salad, Cupcakes, Chips and drinks. Every year it is a tradition for Randy to have a keg of green beer on tap all weekend. The Green Miller Lite was flowing all weekend. Special Thanks to Kim and Brian for the great food and support of the event. Also, Special Thanks to Little T – Tim Bowers Jr. for making a monetary donation towards the food on Sunday. Thank You Little T.
The final class on the schedule for the day was the Fray Super Stock Class. 3:00 Round Robin racers were scheduled on the Randy’s Raceway Tub Track. Joel completed the Hat Trick Sweep in winning all classes with a dominating Fray Super Stock drive. Joel ran 211 laps over 6 lanes. Finishing in 2nd place track owner Randy Jay Haydt with his 3rd Top 5 run of the weekend. Randy completed 209 laps. Hiram Durant was 3rd on the podium with a 209 lap run. Donny Auriema finished 4th, His 3rd straight Top 4 run of the weekend. Donny ran 207 laps. Turbo Dan Wirfel finised 5th while running 202 laps. Brian Sponagle finished 6th with a 201 lap run. Sheldon Hiester finished 7th with a 201 lap run. Shane Hiester finished 8th with a 199 Lap Run. Robin Schroy completed 197 laps for a 9th place run. Victor Quinones wrapped up our Top 10 in Fray Super Stock with 194 Laps.
